Thank you for your help – I’ll need it again

I’m fairly new to the Amherst region and have lived in several different parts of Canada as well as on another continent. And although I’m relatively healthy, I’ve had the unfortunate knack of getting ill at one time or another in all of these places – ill enough to be admitted to hospital. I had hoped to leave this habit behind when my husband and I moved to Amherst but no such luck. I was recently admitted to Cumberland County Hospital and spent a week there. The level of care I received can only be described as outstanding. This hospital is a jewel and I will be forever grateful for the professionalism, competence and compassion with which I was treated by everyone involved in my care. Although during the course of my week in hospital I learned I will need surgery in the next few months, I was enormously relieved to know I can have the surgery right here.

I am reminded of the children’s story “The Little Engine that Could” when I think of this hospital and its accomplishments. Cumberland County has succeeded in producing “The Little Hospital that Can and Does.” Bravo.
