STONE, VALERIE J.
Valerie J. Stone was born Valerie Jean McFadden to Edward and Donna McFadden, and grew up in the coal mining town of Springhill, Nova Scotia, Canada where she now continues to reside with her husband, Philip and son, Keith.
Upon her graduation from high school she began working in the art department at Seagull Pewter in Pugwash, Nova Scotia and during her career she’s created pieces for a vast array of corporations including Disney, Warner Bros., DC Comics & United Features Syndicate, among countless others throughout North America. Some of her wildlife scratchboard work has been exhibited as the first of its kind to be shown with the Canadian Portraiture Academy. One of her crowning achievements includes the design and sculpture of the East Coast Music Award trophy.
Valerie is self-taught and works in a wide variety of mediums. Her pieces can be seen in several exhibits that occur annually in and around Maritime locals and in the homes of private collectors. She is a current member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS) and the Truro Art Society as well as the Sackville Art Association and the Moncton Art Society in New Brunswick. She is President of her own design company, Valerie J. Stone Inc. and accepts private fine art commissions as well.
