MCWADE, PATRICIA

Maritime artist Patricia McWade prefers to paint her favorite subjects from life.

Essentially self-taught, she has participated in several workshops and keeps the world at bay while she paints with other local artists.

She conveys her enthusiasm for a subject through lively brushwork and intuitive color choices. This combination of colorful washes and careful attention to backgrounds is reflected in her watercolor landscapes and florals. Her paintings are shown in corporate, public and private collections around the country.

Artist statement: my goal is to observe nature carefully, sketch simply, and paint loosely and boldly. Painting should be a joyful experience for both artist and viewer.
