STUBBERT (MACLEOD), LORNA
Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, Lorna’s adventure into the art world began twenty years ago when she and her husband began to make wooden crafts which they offered for sale at the Moncton Crafters’ Market. It was Lorna’s job to paint the figures that her husband, Don, created. The success of their business venture opened many doors to Maritime craft and art shows where their work was exhibited and sold.
About ten years ago, Lorna ventured into the world of painting with watercolors. Beginning lessons, and continuing classes and workshops, have only increased her pleasure and joy for working in this medium. While Lorna’s paintings cover a wide range of “subjects”, her love of the ocean shows through in her land and seascapes.
Lorna is a member of the Art League of Bonita Springs, Florida, where she and her husband spend part of the winter. Locally, Lorna paints and exhibits her work with the “Mixed Palette” painting group in Pugwash, NS.
The Stubberts live at Cameron’s Beach, Port Howe. In July 2008, they welcomed their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, family and friends, to share in the joy filled celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
For additional information on the artist, please contact the Foundation office and they will arrange contact with the artist for you.
