DOBSON, HARVEY
Harvey began painting over 50 years ago and is self-taught, having learned from books but primarily from trial and error. His work is greatly influenced by John Clymer, an American Historian and Painter. Harvey uses the same palette as Clymer. Primarily Harvey painted wildlife and began doing farm scenes on commission about ten years ago and this developed his love for landscape painting.
Whatever Harvey paints he paints for the pure personal satisfaction. He still enjoys wildlife painting, but says “nothing beats painting outdoors!”
Painting for Harvey is food for the soul and he is never truly satisfied with any piece, so he keeps on painting, sure that the next work of art will be better than the last.
