AMHERST, NS (April 20, 2010) – If you were looking for tickets to attend the Cumberland Health Care Foundation’s annual fundraising dinner – a Red & Black Event - on Saturday April 24th, you may be out of luck. For the first time in years, the event has sold out.
“It’s been a terrific year for ticket purchases,” said Managing Director of the Cumberland Health Care Foundation Joe Gauthier, “we were wait listing within 4 weeks of ticket sales. Fortunately those who were initially on the wait list were able to be accommodated as final ticket and table confirmations were received. However as of this week, all available seats have been spoken for.”
Volunteers and artists have been gearing up for the past couple of months to support the Foundation dinner by donating works of art while the business community has also been pitching in with donations of gift certificates, products and services for the live and silent auctions that will occur.
Guests of the event will be hearing about the impact of the bursary program on future staff shortages while a nurse practitioner will speak on her choice of a health care career and what was involved. The Foundation will be awarding its annual Distinguished Service Award as well as its Volunteer of the Year Award. It is also pleased to have Jost Vineyards as its special sponsor for the evening with Patterson Law holding the lead sponsor position.
