AMHERST, NS (October 26th, 2009) – The Cumberland Health Care Foundation is pleased to be the recipient of $5,000 from the Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary in support of this year’s “Light the Way!” campaign.
“Our Auxiliary is pleased once again to be lighting the way for hospital patients,” said Auxiliary President Bob Janes, “our membership understands the importance of having quality medical care available for everyone. We’re happy to help make it happen through funding medical equipment purchases and campaigns such as the Foundation’s Light the Way.”
This will be the twelfth annual holiday campaign for the Cumberland Health Care Foundation. Each year’s “Light the Way!” seeks to raise funds for new or replacement hospital equipment. This year, the goal is to raise $73,000 to provide equipment such as three (3) new beds for the Intensive Care Unit and a portable ventilator for the Respiratory Therapy department at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
“We’re thankful to the work of the Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary,” said Joe Gauthier, Foundation Managing Director, “it’s a group that is constantly committed to improving the lives of others through healthcare. We’re very proud to have them as one of our major sponsors again this year”
This year’s “Light the Way!” event will be held on the evening of Wednesday, December 2nd starting at 5:30.
