AMHERST, NS (March 10, 2008) – The Palliative Care Fund of the Cumberland Health Care Foundation received a boost recently with a $1,000 donation from the 2007 Terry ‘Moosie’ Lorette Golf Tournament.
On hand was Doris Lorette presenting the cheque to the Foundation’s Managing Director, Joe Gauthier and Carol Embree, RN of the Palliative Care Program of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
“We’re extremely pleased and thankful that donations come in through a variety of different ways to support patients and their families during very difficult periods”, said Gauthier, “this donation will help us continue to make a difference in the lives of others”.
In addition to its goal to complete the “Growing Care” campaign for the third operating room and updated diagnostic imaging equipment, the Cumberland Health Care Foundation is currently working with the Palliative Care Program to provide several thousand dollars worth of needed equipment.
The Cumberland Health Care Foundation is a registered Canadian not-for-profit charity dedicated to enhancing the provision of a high standard of health care within Cumberland County by raising funds and supporting new and improved services, programs, equipment and facilities.
