AMHERST (Staff) - A longtime supporter of the Cumberland
Health Care Foundation has been named the organization's
2005 Outstanding Volunteer Award winner.
James Scopie, the laboratory service manager at the Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre, has been involved with various
foundation projects and events over the years. He has worked
tirelessly on the Light the Way Campaign as well as sharing
his musical talents at various foundation events.
"Jim is a true example of volunteerism. He is always available to assist
the foundation an is so helpful in organizing our events. He is always wearing
his smile!," foundation managing director Jodi Swan said Tuesday.
The award was presented to Scopie at the foundation's National
Volunteer Week celebration on Monday. It's the second time
the award has been presented. Last year's winner with Allen
Wessell.
This award is presented annually recognizes an individual
who selflessly has contributed of their time, effort, talent,
resources and leadership for the betterment of the foundation.
The Cumberland Health Care Foundation acknowledges the valuable
work of its many volunteers, all who assist in forwarding
the mission and goals of the organization.
