Health
care foundation receives sizable donation
AMHERST (STAFF) - The Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation
was the beneficiary of a huge donation.
Ken Crowley, a retired adviser for Clarica Financial was
on hand at the hospital to make a presentation of $76,122.99
to Foundation chair Phyllis Cameron.
"I am very pleased to be here to present this cheque which has been made
possible by a beneficiary designation on an investment that was owned by the
late Marjorie C. Lees," Crowley said.
"She was a client of mine for close to 20-years and several years ago,
after her mother passed away, I worked with her to change the beneficiary designations
so this money would be made payable to the Foundation," he added.
Everyone who knew Lees would have said to a person this is
a typical gesture for her.
"I know the hospital foundation will benefit many CUmberland County residents
in many ways for years to come," he said.
Jodi Swan, executive director of the Foundation said she
was overwhelmed when she learned of the donation.
