Health Care Continues To Make Great Strides AMHERST (Staff) - Health care in Cumberland County has
made great strides in recent months culminating with the opening
of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
The opening of the facility was a "giant leap forward,"
Cumberland Health Authority chief executive officer Bruce quigley
said during the 5th annual Cumberland Health Care Foundation dinner.
Quigley noted that tremendous support from the foundation helped bring the new
facility to fruition. Quigley went on to tell the sold-out crowd that, wile many
said raising $7 million couldn't be done, he wanted to thank them for the great
job they did.
"I again want to thank you for taking on that challenge and allowing this
community to be home to a hospital that is the envy of many."
The new facility not only offers top notch health care, but allows the rebuilding
of specialty health care services in the area.
