Borderbelles Make Final Donation To Health Foundation
UPPER
NAPPAN (Staff) - The Borderbelles have made their final donation
to the Cumberland Health Care Foundation.
The woman's choral group is disbanding at the end of the month after 21 years
of singing together. To celebrate their accomplishments and make a lasting contribution
to the region's new hospital, the Borderbelles presented two new TV/VCRs, TV
stands and video tapes for use in the pediatric and medical units at the Cumberland
Regional Heath Care Centre.
The Borderbelles received assistance in their purchase from Wal-Mart, which provided
them with a discount.
"We are so pleased to see our funds used in such a helpful manner. These
funds would have been accumulated from weekly dues and various fundraisers held
by the group," Marilyn Barillas said.
Foundation managing director Jodi Swan welcomed the donation as a wonderful example
of giving.
"The Cumberland Health Care Foundation is very thankful for the support
received from the Border Belles. Community groups such as theirs are a wonderful
example of giving. I'm certain that their gifts will be greatly appreciated by
the patients of the facility."
Swan said.
