Board Vice Chair receives Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal Amherst Daily News
Twelve
Cumberland County residents were presented with Queen's
Golden Jubilee Medals during a ceremony at the E.D.
Fullerton Municipal Building on Wednesday. Among
those being honoured was lawyer Morris Haugg of Tidnish,
who was recognized for his years of community service
in organizations such as the Amherst Rotary club.

He
was one of three Canadians awarded an order of merit from
the Mason's Society of North America.
Morris Haugg has held numerous positions over the years with
organizations such as the YMCA and the Amherst Rotary.
He was also active in the Chamber of Commerce, and the Toastmaster's
Club while being a founding member of the Amherst Township
Historical Society (where he's a life member), the Blueberry
Harvest Festival Society, Tidnish Crossroads Community Association
and the Amherst 2000 Society.
Haugg was active with the former HVRH Foundation and the
Above &
Beyond Campaign to raise funds for a new regional hospital,
was active with the former Amherst BIDC, was a citizenship
badge tester for the Girl Guides, chaired the CBA National
Law Day Committee for Cumberland County and has worked with
the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society, the Trinity
St. Stephen's united Church council, the Northport home and
School Association and the Amherst and Area Industrial Commission.
He has also served on the executive for the Atlantic Provinces
Resource Centre for the Hearing Handicapped, was a speaker
at the Mount Allison University Model Parliament and has
served on the board of directors for various organizations.
