Donor Wall Unveiled At Regional Hospital Note: The following brief has been compiled
from major stories which appeared over the past week in the Amherst
Daily News
UPPER NAPPAN (Staff) - Five years of hard work, dedication and commitment were
celebrated here Nov. 21 with the unveiling of the donor wall at the new Cumberland
Regional Health Care Centre.
"It's here, it's a dream that came true," the first chair of the former
Highland View Regional Hospital Foundation, Roger Bacon, said during the unveiling
ceremony.
"It's been a long while since we started and we would not be here tonight
if not for your tremendous support and effort over five years," the former
premier said referring to the community's support for the $7.5-million Above & Beyond
Campaign.
The donor wall, which is located in the main foyer of the new hospital, represents
all major contributions to the building campaign and included the names of all
those who made monetary donations of $1,000 and above as well as the manes of
the members of the Above &
Beyond campaign cabinet.
Some names were left off the list out of respect to donors requesting anonymity
while a pair of donors wanted their names placed in different sections of the
hospital.
The wall categorizes donors as leaders, patrons, founders, benefactors and builders
while all donations to the former Highland View foundation and the new Cumberland
Health Care Foundation will be included in a Book of Honour to be made available
for viewing in the foundation office sometime in the new year.
