Co. Health Care Foundation Holds Meeting
AMHERST (Staff) - The Cumberland Health Care Foundation board of directors held
its first meeting at the new Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Tuesday,
Oct. 29.
The mission of the foundation is to enhance the hospital's ability to provide
a high standard of health care to all residents of Cumberland County by raising
funds for new and improved services, programs, equipment and facilities.
The foundation raises funds through three major special events, including the
upcoming Light The Way Campaign. The foundation also receives funds through planned
gifts, gifts-in-kind, memorial and honorary donations, gift annuities, and life
insurance.
The board consists of chairperson Phyllis Cameron, past chair Blake Daley, vice
chairman Morris Haugg, secretary Adrienne Baxter-Tingley, treasurer Michael Hunter
and Dr. Julio Bobadillia, staff representative for the Cumberland Regional Health
Care Centre.
Jean Miller represents Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary, Rakesh Minocha, vice-president
of operations for the hospital, Bruce Quigley, the CEO of the health authority,
Lisa Sangster, nursing representative for the hospital, Marg E. Smith, the general
staff representative, and Jodi Swan, the foundation development coordinator.
Also included on the board are directors Doug Costin, Ivan Duvar, Barry MacLeod,
and David Wood.
