The Board of Directors of the Cumberland Health Care Foundation thanks everyone who joined us at the 14th Annual Foundation Dinner on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at the Amherst Regional High School.
With our Roaring 20’s & All That Jazz! theme we encouraged guests to dress for the event and they did! We slid back in time and had photos taken with a vintage automobile, enjoyed a speakeasy atmosphere, listened to the Jazz provided by the Elastic Big Band, had a delicious meal and more.
Thank you to our guest speaker Dr. Allan MacDonald. And congratulations Tto the recipients of our Foundation Awards:
2012 Distinguished Service Award - David Wood, shown here with Jane Wood and Foundation Chair Diana Bacon
2012 Volunteer of the Year Award - Ann Keddy, shown with Foundation Chair Diana Bacon and Jack Keddy
Proceeds from the evening support the Cumberland Health Care Careers Bursary Program. Designed to help fight shortages of skilled medical professionals in Cumberland County, the bursary also helps students financially achieve their dreams of a career in health care. Since the first bursaries were awarded in 2005 a total of 17 students have come back to work with hospital patients in Cumberland Countyand 21 others are continuing in their programs of study. In 2012, we will be welcoming seven recipients back to Cumberland as they officially start their health care careers!
Plan to be with us next year!
